Yoga is essentially concerned with teaching us to perceive and respond to reality in such a way that we can transform our perceptions and responses so that the experience of suffering is resolved. While this process may lead to asking legitimate philosophical, psychological, and religious questions, such questions are of secondary concern. The aim of the yoga path is to recognise suffering in its various manifestations and conditions and to cultivate the skills necessary to bring suffering to an end.
~The Inner Tradition of Yoga from the late Michael Stone
Thank you, i read the article and i’m very happy that also and especially in yoga so many people can walk on the path of awareness.
But the problem is that in many yoga classes the teachers are not focused on the primary soul of this practice: focusing our body-mind on this eternal everchanging present.
Awaking and reaching awareness, this is the principle. Is not a question a mere poses, names to remember, fashion wear to dress in classroom. Is something deeply related to our spiritual essential and to our true aspect of the self.
We are the whole, but not aware of this fact.
And yoga, as you make me see, is a way to the enlightenment.
